Morrow County Health District strives to ensure health care and medical services to all Morrow County residents. The District includes ambulance, home health and hospice services throughout the county, Pioneer Memorial Hospital and Pioneer Memorial Clinic in Heppner, and Irrigon Medical Clinic in Irrigon.

Emergency medical services include ambulance services throughout the county with first-response teams located in Lexington and Ione. EMS certification levels include volunteer drivers, EMT Basic, EMT Intermediate and Paramedic.

Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner is a 19-bed, acute-care in-patient facility with a cardiac care unit. The facility has an Oregon Trauma Level IV designation, which allows for greatly improved chances for trauma survival in a rural area. Outpatient services at the hospital include emergency, radiology and laboratory. PMH is also licensed to provide skilled nursing care under the Medicare/Medicaid Swing-Bed program, and has designated a number of their beds for Long Term Care under a new state program. PMH is one of only three hospitals in the state to qualify for this new program, which allows area residents to remain in or near their home town at a time when they need it most.

Pioneer Memorial Clinic, a primary-care clinic, is staffed by three family practice physicians and a certified physician’s assistant. The clinic is located on the hospital campus and is open Monday through Friday.

Pioneer Memorial Home Health provides intermittent home care under the direction of a physician. Registered nurses, home-health aides, social workers and therapists perform services for individuals confined by illness or recuperation.

Physical Therapy services through Rocky Mt. Physical Therapy are available on the hospital campus.
